What is a seating print-proof baseline?
It is an immutable canonical snapshot of the roster, assignments, tables, reminders, staff-code legend, and print settings that were reviewed at a specific decision point and identified by a digest.
Name the decision point
Use labels such as printer proof 02 or coordinator review 03, not vague names such as final. Preserve the owner’s authoritative source outside the browser project and label every assumption that remains unverified.
A digest reveals drift
SHA-256 can show that stored canonical data changed, but it does not authenticate the reviewer, prove custody, or prevent someone from creating another digest. Review the result as production evidence, not as a recommendation or professional approval; the responsible people remain accountable for the decision.
Never overwrite history
Create a new proof after changes instead of editing the earlier snapshot. The comparison needs both states. Carry this limitation into the proof and handoff so a fresh recipient knows what changed, what was checked, and what still requires human confirmation.
